For thousands of years, it was used not only as a key ingredient in linen but also as a very beneficial and easily accessible food source.

Flaxseed oil contains vital nutrients such as Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, fiber, magnesium, vitamin E, sterols and lignans. This oil is popularly used to reduce cholesterol, blood sugar and treat digestive conditions.

How to use

Body nutrition - Take about 1-2 teaspoons of flaxseed oil mixed in a glass of milk or added to curry or salads or smoothies etc.

Hair Health – Apply it on the scalp then gently massage for 10-15 minutes before sleep and leave it overnight. Wash hair in the morning. Regular use of this oil will help reduce hair fall. The presence of fatty acids, vitamins and minerals nourishes the hair. A massage on the scalp treats dandruff, hair fall and also reduces frizz in hair. Use it as a hot oil therapy.

Hair Shine – Apply oil in the hair strands especially in the ends and wash the hair after an hour for a soft, shiny and no frizz hair. Repeat the application each time you wash hair for 1 month and see the desired results. Cold pressed Alsi oil can improve hair texture by reducing hair thinning.

Alopecia Areata – is another hair condition which can easily be treated with the help of Flaxseed Oil. Take 2 tablespoon of this oil and massage the scalp thoroughly. It will help rejuvenate the hair and prevent loss of hair in patches. You can also add it to your daily diet, such as in soups.

Skin - Apply oil on damp skin after bath in place of lotion.

Precaution

Always do a patch test/suitability test when using the product for the first time be it application or consumption.

Although the oil is rich in linoleic fatty acids, people with acne- pimples and oily skin should not use it as it can clog the pore and provide acne’s. Flaxseed Oil is not recommended for women during pregnancy. Since Flaxseed Oil might decrease blood clotting, it is advised to stop using this oil two weeks before having elective surgery.

Always store the oil in a cool and dry place. The oil is good to use for a year from the date of cold pressing.
