Charcoal- Charcoal made from burnt bamboo removes oils and dirt from skin pores making your skin appear cleaner, non- greasy and blemish free. Charcoal has a very good absorbing power and therefore works best to remove oil and toxins.
Goat Milk- Goat Milk with its natural high Alpha hydroxy acid content helps remove dead cells which otherwise can block the pores leading to acnes. Apart from being AHA rich, it is very mild and tolerant for sensitive skin. Goat milk is sourced from goats found in villages located in Himalayan foothills. These goats produce nutritiously rich milk as they are majorly fed on weeds and natural vegetation on hill side.
Himalayan Pink Salt - Himalayan pink salt a rich source of sodium and potassium and with over 80 minerals and trace elements enriches the human body. Higly effective antifungal, anti aging, anti-allergy and muscle relaxant kills acne causing bacteria, reduces inflammation, balances oil production, improves hydration and skin pH

Each soap bar is handmade and takes more than 2 months to become ready for use. There are no chemicals and preservatives used in the soap making.
Liquid face wash / soaps need chemicals and preservatives to give them the consistency, shelf life etc.
Example of a difference between SNAANA charcoal soap ingredients and other charcoal soap/liquid was ingredients

Similarly Soap bars that have charcoal may carry ingredients like soap base, fragrance, sodium benzoate, Diazolidinyl urea etc.
Do not just get carried away by the front label of the product. Always read the back side of the product for a complete make of the product. If you see only the key ingredients listed on the back label – then it is certain that there is something more in the product that the brand is not comfortable listing on the label.

Yes individuals with oily scalp and hair can easily use it as an hair wash also
This charcoal soap wash is 100% made with ingredients that are 100% natural and the product contains no chemicals and preservatives at all. Each soap bar even in ancient times was made through the process called saponification which we all have read in our science chapter in class 6-7th in our schools. Exactly the same method of making the soap is followed at SNAANA that is:
Oil + NAOH = Soap /Saponified oil / Oil Soap / Real Soap
So at SNAANA we use oils that are purely cold pressed to make the soap. Each oil is made from nuts and seeds at our own handmade manufacturing unit. Oil is made through cold pressing method which is the best ancient technique to make oils. Each of product ingredients is produced in house only to ensure purity. No oils are sourced from outside.
Organic means the product ingredients are completely free from pesticides but we lay mans do not know that organic certifying agencies that issue organic certification has permitted a set of pesticides to be used in even organic farming. Every country has a set of permitted pesticide to be used in organic farming.
All ingredients used at SNAANA are sourced from farmers following certain farming standards to ensure good quality produce.
Charcoal soap is made with ingredients that work effectively on oily and normal to oily skin. Ingredients like charcoal, Himalayan pink salt, non-comedogenic oils that provide effective cleansing- removing and cleaning skin pores effectively leaving no skin oil at all.
Skin oil is a feed for acne causing bacteria to thrive and hence the SNAANA charcoal soap also called real soap removes the oil while the goat milk in the soap nourishes the skin layer making it super oily skin cleanser.
Himalayan pink salt crystals can still be found nutrient rich as compared to sea salt which are subject to high processing. We at SNAANA source our pink salt in the form of rocks from nomads. The salt has nutrients like sulphur, chromium, potassium, magnesium, iron which help in the upkeep of the skin. Each nutrient has a benefit for the skin and these nutrients can easily be absorbed by the skin because of their tiny size. In all Himalayan pink salt reduces oiliness, prevents body odor, treats acne-pimples etc. Also it can reduce the harsh effects of tanning and burns.
Charcoal absorbs the oiliness from the skin pores, attracts impurities and therefore is the best natural cleanser. Charcoal logs in ancient times were used to purify the water to remove impurities making it fit for drinking. Charcoal attracts impurities and hence be it skin or stomach or water in a jar- it can purify each of the it.
At SNAANA we make charcoal from bamboo logs. The burnt logs are then fine powdered and added to the soap. The charcoal that we make is edible and hence is used in tooth cleansing, digestive disorders etc.
Goat milk helps shed dead skin easily as it contains Alpha hydroxyl acids which invisibly peel the top layer of the skin making skin always look clean and vibrant. No dead skin means no place for bacteria to home hence reduced acne pimples.
We suggest teenagers only using the soap because the formulation has been done keeping in view the excessive oil produced by skin glands in the teenage due to hormonal changes. The excess oil when comes in contact with environmental dust/pollution makes the already bacteria conducive skin pores red & inflamed, painful and a very bad facial skin. People in mid 20s to 30 and 40’s will find soap harsh on their skin.
Charcoal as an ingredient is good for skin but what matters the most is the overall product composition. A product that contains charcoal also contains chemicals and preservatives like Diazolidinyl urea & IPBC, fragrance, PEG-7, Methycholoisothiazolinone, cetyl alcohol, Glycols, Emulsifyiers like wax etc. tocopherols. Here when we use such chemical based products we are doing more harm to our skin and body than a good from the charcoal. Therefore all ingredients matter and one should read ingredients thoroughly before buying the product.
The charcoal that we make is an activated charcoal only. It means that the charcoal has the ability to attract the impurities and soak the oil from the skin pores.
Lavender essential oil is used in the range of 2 % which is effective in dealing with acne because of being anti microbial. At SNAANA we steam distill the lavender buds to make the lavender essential oil. Hence used lavender essential oil is edible. This lavender oil is from from kashmiri lavender which is limited in quantity and very different from lavenders found world over.
Rosemary essential oil is used in the range of 2 % in the soap to provide effective astringent and anti bacterial properties. Used essential oil of rosemary is steam distilled in SNAANA own product making unit from fresh rosemary twigs sourced from cool region of Himalayas.
SNAANA makes its soap through the process of cold pressing of oils with NaoH. In the process all ingredients used are natural and there is no addition of any synthetics like stearic acid, fragrance, solvent extracts, alcohol etc making it a very unique ancient derived recipe. Therefore the soaps are like wine – the old they are the better they become. However the essential oils being highly volatile in nature evaporates from the soap. Hence soap is still good to use but the properties of essential oils reduces over the time. The soaps are good to use with essential oils effectiveness for about 15-18 months since they ready to use. Soap at SNAANA takes minimum 8 weeks that is 2 months to become ready to use as a cleanser. There are no chemicals and preservatives used in the formulation at all. For example brands add stearic acid to their soaps to make them hard quickly which otherwise is very time consuming. Chemicals are used by other brands only to make it cheap and cost effective.
Does SNAANA recommend any other products for oily skin? At SNAANA we belive that the skin needs changes as we age similar to our body nutritional needs. Hence individuals with oily skin in teen age should use this while people in 20’s should use Young Adult Oily Skin soap and in 30’s through 50’s should use mom- dad oily skin care products.
Yes, it is completely a natural soap and can be used twice daily with no concerns at all. Rather teenage oily skin should be cleaned with this soap for a clear and no acne skin.
SNAANA makes its products in house only. All product formulation is approved by Department of drug & cosmetic. SNAANA’s founding principle is purity and to ensure products are purely natural – the ingredients used in the making of the products like cold pressed oils, steam distilled essential oils, herb powders, infused oils etc are made in SNAANA’s own manufacturing unit.
Using the right skin care product will automatically solve the acne problem in any age group. And hence when a teenage uses the product as per his age and skin tone, he/she is not going to experience any skin disorder concerns as such.
SNAANA oily skin care products are completely natural and very effective in dealing with oily skin symptoms like acne, pimples, white heads, black heads, open pores etc.
SNAANA wants to drag your attention to the fact that we are still living in a legal framework that was adopted in British times and has not been amended at the pace synthetics/chemicals have come into use in skin care. Import, manufacture, distribution and sale of skin care/ beauty products are regulated by Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940 and this law till date has not given a definite and uniform definition for usage of words on labels like natural and organic which is big-time responsible for misleading the consumers.
That is why what is packed in a bottle or jar in the name of natural, organic, ayurvedic is often not what it claims. Synthetic provide comfort and convenience to manufacturers in terms of making product cost effective and extending the shelf life but they harm our bodies. This is because we have never thought that these chemicals can make cause problems like migraine, cancer, hormonal disorders etc and much more in our bodies.
