Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sunflower Oil, Almond Oil, Castor Oil, Goat Milk, Lavender Essential Oil, Honey, Distilled Water, and NaoH*. are used in the manufacture of this ayurvedic baby soap. (*Used during the saponification process to turn oil into soap. No chemicals remain in the finished product. All 'Real Soaps' are made with saponified oils only).
We use the following ingredients to manufacture our Ayurvedic handmade baby soap:
Goat Milk - We source our Goat Milk from the villages located in the Himalayan foothills of Uttrakhand State. These goats are reared holistically and organically with feed raging from pastures, grains, minerals, treats, and foraging in the forest. Goats love to eat a variety and that too nutritious plant of weeds, bushes instead of grazing on the plain grass lawn. Goat milk is less allergenic and therefore good as compared to cow’s milk.
Honey – A natural humectant that helps seal moisture providing skin elasticity and softness.
Shea Butter – Butter obtained from the fruit of the Shea tree is very effective in treating skin and hair because of naturally found nutrients like linoleic, oleic, arachidic, etc which provides anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and emollient action on the area of application.
Please read the label to avoid known allergies, if any. We provide complete ingredients disclosure on product in common parlance for easy understanding of our customer. We recommend a patch test when using the product for the first time for any unknown allergies.
SNAANA’s Baby soap is the best because it is not made to look attractive to appeal you with its fragrance or colour.
A truly natural soap
Yes, the SNAANA baby soap can be used by dry and sensitive skin individuals without any worry.
No, it is a 100% chemical/synthetic free and preservative free product. At SNAANA we believe every one is born with a beautiful skin and in the process of whitening or lightening the skin – one can end up harming the skin. No skin application products can really change the birth colour of the skin.
Goat milk is highly creamy- thick hence is very moisturisng for the sensitive skin.
The ingredients used in the order of their concentration in making of the soap are Shea butter, Olive oil, Coconut oil, Jojoba oil, Almond oil, Sunflower oil, Raw Goat milk, Castor Oil, Honey, water, NaoH (lye) and Lavender essential oil. All oils used in the soap are cold pressed oils and steam distilled essential oils. Goat milk is sourced from houses that keep goats in Himalayan villages. Unfiltered honey is used in the soap.
Lavender steam distilled essential oil is very calming and relaxing for the babies. On application on skin – it is very soothing and babies love its mild aroma. The Lavender essential oil benefits various skin condition like eczema- intense dryness as on application it helps add moisture to skin. It is a highly effective antimicrobial. So a bottle of essential oil of lavender can help treat insect bite, bee stings, itch, allergy.
It promotes overall well being in babies. Always ensure to use only steam distilled essential oil which is made from lavender buds and is edible. Often Lavender essential oils available in the market are synthetics made- aroma mimicked in the lab and are only meant for external use. Do not buy such essential oils at all as these do not have any therapeutic values.
SNAANA Baby Goat Milk soap is very mild in cleansing and completely free from all chemicals – safe and unsafe. It is best for both body and hair cleansing. No fragrance, no colour, no petroleum related ingredients – hence it is the best REAL soap enriched with Goat Milk for new born baby skin.
Since it is a cold pressed soap meaning it is made with oils and butters that are not heated only to retain their nutritional content. The soap making takes about 2 months for a soap to be ready to use as a cleanser.
Honey is a natural humectants meaning it attracts moisture. So when a honey enriched soap is applied on the skin – it has the tendency to retain water in skin pores and keep it healthy and nourished- completely away from dryness and itch. When it comes to honey – raw – unfiltered honey is the best.
Yes the soap very much helps in eczema skin conditions that happen in some babies. Eczema often is caused due to application of chemically made skin care products. Some babies skin is highly sensitive hence show up these eczema concerns. These chemical skin care products induce dryness in the skin layer thereby the symptoms of dryness, itch, rash etc starts taking place. Hence using a truly natural product for cleansing and a After shower oil for moisturizing – the eczema can be stopped.
If the baby has suffered sunburn or any other illness that has impacted the skin colour then the soap can help to improve or return to original colour of the skin. Regular usage of the soap followed by cream application can help shed the top layer smoothly with improved colour new layers making way to the top.
Yes the soap can be used on new born babies to 12-15 months till they start to toddle. A baby soap is formulated to give mild cleansing simply because the babies are majorly restricted to bed/lap and do not come in contact with major dirt till they start to toddle and explore things on their own.
Yes the presence of oils and butters with goat milk and lavender essential oil ensures to soothe the skin and keep the baby calm and relaxed.
Shea butter is highly emollient with unique properties like anti inflammatory, antioxidant that makes a wonderful skin toner. The thick greasy butter when applied – heals and nourishes the skin. It is an amazing skin loving ingredient found naturally in shea nuts.
Yes this soap can help dry and sensitive skin individuals benefit from the soap to some extent only. The soap has been made very mild keeping in mind the fragile skin of a new born. Hence the percentages of essential oils used are miniscule while a teenage or a adult or grandparents need higher dose of essential oils. Usage of essential oil in product formulation increases as we age.
When compared to chemical soaps – yes this do not last as long as chemical based soaps do. Hardening chemicals like stearic acid etc are used in the soap to make it hard and not melt quickly. Oil made soaps with no chemicals neeed proper care. After use always keep them in a well drained soap tray only. Do not let them sit in a pool of water. Since oil made these REAL soaps can become soft during raining season similar to snacks like biscuits but quality very much remains the same of the soaps.
0 years to 2 years
The product do not contain any mineral oil or parabens at all. Rather we at SNAANA strongly believe in not using even the chemicals that are termed “safe”. For us chemicals are chemicals and can never be natural.
SNAANA source the goat milk from villages in Himalayan foothills. Our own man goes out not to collect the milk but himself milks the goat ONLY TO ENSURE THE PURITY. The villages are at a distance of 12-15 km from our location.
SNAANA Baby goat milk soap is good to use for 12-15 months from the date of making. The soaps do not go bad and are good to use beyond expiry date as well. The soaps will provide the needed cleansing and moisturising effect but the essential oil effectiveness would decrease. Essential oils are highly volatile so evaporate over the time.
Yes the soap is absolutely safe to use on dry sensitive baby skin.
No it is not a NO TEAR soap. No tear soap making needs chemicals and at SNAANA we do not make use of chemicals and preservatives at all in our products.
Yes, the ingredients are all taken from the nature. And the ingredients have not been subject to any multiple stages processing. Natural ingredients made soap with ancient technique that takes 2 months for a soap bar to become ready to use. No Synthetics at all.
Yes the soap can be ordered online at www.snaana.com
SNAANA wants to drag your attention to the fact that we are still living in a legal framework that was adopted in British times and has not been amended at the pace synthetics/chemicals have come into use in skin care. Import, manufacture, distribution and sale of skin care/ beauty products are regulated by Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940 and this law till date has not given a definite and uniform definition for usage of words on labels like natural and organic which is big-time responsible for misleading the consumers.
That is why what is packed in a bottle or jar in the name of natural, organic, ayurvedic is often not what it claims. Synthetic provide comfort and convenience to manufacturers in terms of making product cost effective and extending the shelf life but they harm our bodies. This is because we have never thought that these chemicals can make cause problems like migraine, cancer, hormonal disorders etc and much more in our bodies.
